Monday’s are so often viewed with dread, more heart attacks happen on Monday than any other day of the week. This blog will not be adding to your stress. I’m all about helping folks enjoy themselves.

I’m taking this opportunity to re-introduce a feature called Manly Mondays. I wanna start your week off right and what better way than some new music from an attractive man? That’s what Manly Mondays are about, an excuse for me to hype cats that I just happen to think are talented and easy one the eyes. First up, we have Margel the Sophant outta Philly, releasing his latest project an EP titled ” Born on a Monday”. His background in music is quite extensive, but I’m not typing alladat.

This singer, composer, pianist and producer has been singing since he was 2 and playing from the ripe age of 6. That’s alot of time to practice and as they say practice certainly does make perfect. Last, but far from least we got the Da Brat tat tat. I Have not actually had the pleasure to catch a live performance of Da Brat’s. I have heard some stories about her live performances, but those I will keep to myself.

Da brat has always repped for Chicago, 60644! Nigga What! And repped well like she did last year after begin released from the pen.

But for me it is that very first album, Funkdafied that holds a special place in my heart not because she was the first female emcee to go Plat, or cause she repped for Chi so hard, but because this album makes me think of college.

I got a confession. I love b-boys, no really its a sickness. Particularly since coming across adult b-boys is like finding a needle in a haystack.
Mind you when I say adult, I mean more than age appropriate. So as a means of medicating this condition I’ve decided to introduce a new feature, Manly Mondays. Mondays is the day I’ll shout out male emcees I think are hot lyrically and easy on the eyes.

Why? ‘Cause its my blog and I say so. And much like I do, so does this local emcee, Thaione Davis. I could say alot about this cat. How he has been on the scene forever, how he puts on a great show, one of the dopest and under rated Chicago emcees, and he has one of the sexiest smiles ever—but I’m a let him tell it.
